A handover is not a Loom and a prayer. It is transfer of control.
Acceptance day agenda
- Walk through production with your team driving, vendor watching.
- Deploy a trivial change together (copy tweak counts).
- Review error monitoring and who gets paged.
- Sign acceptance against the scope doc criteria.
- Schedule day-30 review for friction log.
Documentation minimum
- Architecture one-pager.
- Integration map with credentials location.
- User admin guide (non-developer).
- Backlog of known nice-to-haves vs bugs.
Use this as a working checklist inside your team first. When the same steps repeat every week and spreadsheets start breaking, that is usually the moment to scope source code, deployment access, documentation and the workflow model in one handover as an owned system.
